Stephen
Ministry
is ...
a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to
provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing
all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and
community.
"Put
on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion." Colossians
3:12
Stephen
Ministry
is confidential
ministry: those receiving care can be sure that their identity and what goes on
in the caring relationship will remain private.
Sometimes
It’s Hard to Ask for Help
We're
brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people. We tend to think
that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness. So we try to keep our
struggles hidden, stuffed deep inside. However, that's not God's plan. Galatians
6:2 says "Bear one another's burdens, and so
fulfill the law of Christ." God wants us to care for others--and
allow others to care for us in our time of need.
If you're sad or struggling inside, don't suffer alone. Ask for help. We've got
a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray, and
help you through a tough time. (It's confidential too!) Find out more about

Our Stephen Ministers are there to care!
Ever Thought about Becoming a Stephen Minister?
Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide
emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult
time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness,
relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you have gifts for caring,
encouragement, and listening; please begin to prayerfully consider whether you
might want to be part of this exciting ministry. If you think you might be
interested, contact Pastor Randy at 396-2641 or via email at PastorRandy@gloriadeicr.com.
"Encourage
one another and build one another up." I Thessalonians 5:11
