Pastor Randy Kasch

Randy grew up in Rapid City South Dakota and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1974. His Master of Divinity degree is from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, IA, 1979. He served First Lutheran in Sioux City, IA from 1979-1985 and Trinity in Mason City, IA from 1985 until 1990. He has been pastor at Gloria Dei since December of 1990.

He is the father of five children, Rob, Jennifer, Chase, Vanessa and Jonathan and grandfather of Rachael, Brandon and Elysse. Favorite hobbies include reading, running, softball and tennis. He cheers for the NY Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.

A significant Bible verse for him is Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for; the conviction of things not seen.

Kathy was awarded a Masters of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary in 2003 and accepted a call to serve alongside the people of Gloria Dei that summer.

She and her husband Bob have two children. Kristen is a graduate of St. Olaf College currently serving the Peace Corp with health education in Madagascar , Africa . Jason is a sophomore at St Olaf. Hobbies include traveling, gardening, biking, music and volunteering. When free time can’t include family, it may find her at the Cedar Valley Humane Society or volunteering as an on-call chaplain at St Luke’s Hospital.  Prior to the ordained ministry, Kathy worked in college admissions, training, and as an educational consultant.

Kathy is a native of NE Iowa .   Her Bachelors degree is from Carroll College in Waukesha , WI .  Her family has called Waukesha , WI and Knoxville , TN home before coming to Cedar Rapids .

Her favorite scripture includes the Walk to Emmaus and Psalm 139.
